EasyJet traveller figures soar on Go takeover

Easjet saw its passenger traffic rise by nearly one-and-a-half times in August following its takeover of Go Fly.

August saw 1.696 million passengers travel on EasyJet, up from 698,350 a year earlier, giving a year-on-year increase of 143 per cent. That brings the number of passengers carried in the 12 months to August to 10.4 million.

The load factor - how many seats on each flight were filled - rise to 87.2 per cent from 86.2 per cent a year earlier, giving a figure for the 12 months to August of 84.7 per cent.

August's figures are the first to incorporate the former British Airways subsidiary, Go, which was acquired by EasyJet on August 1st.
