Industry in Ireland today is experiencing unprecedented levels of growth, particularly in the higher technology sectors

Industry in Ireland today is experiencing unprecedented levels of growth, particularly in the higher technology sectors. The employment potential in these sectors presents a wide range of employment options, with good pay and conditions, and long-term prospects for those with technician and higher technician qualifications.

The broad electronics and software sectors will, over the coming years, have greatly increasing demands for technicians educated to national certificate or diploma level. The relevant RTC and institute of technology courses equip school-leavers with the necessary skills to secure well-paid skilled positions within these fast-moving and exciting industries. The long-term opportunities for career development and promotion for electronics and software technicians are excellent.

The emerging worldwide technological revolution is increasingly expanding demand for qualified technicians and other staff for the established and emerging fast-growing high tech companies and significant continued demand will underpin the long-term prospects of the sector in Ireland. In addition to well-known multinationals, Irish-owned companies also offer excellent employment prospects in all the regions of Ireland, with their growth and expansion into international markets.
