PRIMARY schools poster competition on overseas aid has just been launched by Joan Burton, Minister of State at the Department of Foreign Affairs. The competition is being run the Department's development programme, Irish Aid, in conjunction with the INTO.

Pupils should submit an A2-size poster, in any medium, on the theme "Compare the lives of children in Ethiopia and in Ireland, and show how the two countries can learn from and help each other". There are three categories: under nine years, nine years and over and special education. First prize in each category is £350 to the winning school, £100 to the winning student(s) and £350 to a school in a developing country nominated by the prize-winner. Entries should arrive by Friday, May 2nd, to INTO/Irish Aid Competition, INTO Head Office, 35 Parnell Square, Dublin 2.
