Here at AW Chill Foods on the Belgard Road in Tallaght, we distribute a range of products including the Yoplait yoghourt range, Kilmeaden cheese and Premium butters and spreads. We have six direct drivers who deliver to the multiples and a number of `spec' vans that visit the smaller outlets on spec.

I'm responsible for the efficiency of the depot. Ultimately it's my job to ensure that we have enough stock in the depot to meet deliveries.

I have to make sure that the refrigerators are working correctly and that the vans remain in good working order. I'm also responsible for staffing. I'm in this position only since last October and part of my function will be to improve our quality systems and procedures.

I joined the company as a graduate trainee. I did a degree in food chemistry at UCC followed by a diploma in accounting and information systems. Initially I was based in Dungarvan in the dairy division and worked on business development programmes. I moved into quality assurance and eventually became dairy manager at Castlelyons Liquid Milk, Co Cork.

My new job is a great challenge. We're redeveloping our delivery routes and we expect to double in size this year when we begin to carry the Avonmore range.
