If you have books to sell or would like to view a database of second hand titles visit www.schoolbookexchange.ie where there is considerable potential for saving money. Like eBay, transactions are made between sellers and buyers - there is no delivery service. A €1 fee exists for users who make purchases.

The Department of Education encourages schools to run book rental schemes.

The uptake has been relatively low, but inquire at your child's school about the availability of books for rent.
