At Sligo IT, work is due to start on a £1 million refurbishment, which will create a new centre for the institute's art and design activities. The new centre is expected to be ready for the next academic year. Facilities will include student and teacher accommodation, ceramic and pottery workshops, print studies, darkrooms, a modelmaking area, lecture rooms and slide library, as well as support services.
