DCU and UL both offer a BA in applied languages. DCU also offers an MA in translation studies. The 2001 CAO points for DCU settled at 335 for French/German and German/Spanish, at 340 for Japanese/others and 350 for French/Spanish. UL points settled at 480 in the second round

DCU offers training in two foreign languages. Candidates must hold a higher level C3 in one language. Their second language can be studied from beginner level, however all candidates who study French must have a C3 in French. UL also offers two languages, with the possibility of studying a third to degree level. Candidates must hold a higher level B3 in one of their chosen languages.
