Selling toasted sandwiches to starving boarders for about £4 each (1985)

Who was your favourite teacher and why?

Stephen Daunt (an English teacher in the Dead Poets Society mould who introduced me to the amazing world of plays/theatre in Cork)

Who was the object of your first crush?

I think it was a girl called Janice

What was your earliest career ambition?

To be the number one tennis player in the world

Were you cool or nerdy at school?

Extremely nerdy when I came to Dublin (briefcase and green duffel coat), but soon graduated to Van Halen sweatbands and torn jeans

Trinity College Dublin, 1989-1993
