The opera Theatre Company will bring its production of Handel's Rodelinda, "a story of ruthless treachery, lust, cruelty, passion and the healing influence of married love" to the Brooklyn Academy of Music, New York in mid-May. The cast will include soprano Helen Williams (Rodelinda), Jonathan Peter Kenny, Yvonne Howard, Ian Paton and Charles Johnston. They last performed there in l997, an occasion which was also their U.S. debut and on which they performed Handel's Amadigi. Committed to arts education, the company provides a regular programme of projects that encourage creativity and give young people an insight into opera. It is funded by The Arts Council and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.
