Former Enron chief executive Mr Jeff Skilling pleaded not guilty in federal court today to all criminal charges in an indictment handed up by a federal grand jury.

Mr Skilling, 50, is accused of multiple counts of fraud, insider trading and making false financial statements in the 42-count indictment that also includes new charges against former Enron chief accounting officer Mr Rick Causey.

US Magistrate Frances Stacy, who took his plea, said Mr Skilling would be released on $5 million bail, pending trial.
