Enterprise Ireland supported investments in 11 Irish companies involving a total investment of €15 million in the third quarter.
These investments will lead to the creation of about 210 new jobs over the next three years.
A significant number of the firms involved are in the software and Internet sectors and include DigiSoft.tv, which is to create 30 jobs; Procure Technologies, which will create 22 jobs; and Phorest Communications, which will create 23 jobs.
The Tanaiste, Ms Mary Harney, said the investment showed that the IT sector in Ireland was recovering and likely to be a significant source of job creation over the coming months.
