Entry to a seminar by former US president Bill Clinton in the Burlington Hotel, Dublin, will cost a minimum of €750, according to the organisers of next month's event, Celebrity World Events.

The event organiser expects that about 800 guests from the industrial, commercial and political arenas will attend the afternoon and evening event on September 27th at which the 42nd US president will take centre stage.

Packages start at €750 a person and provide admission to a champagne reception, a sit-down lunch and Mr Clinton's keynote speech.

However, members of the public must purchase a minimum of two tickets, according to event organisers Celebrity World Events, which is owned by Glasgow entrepreneur Satty Singh.

An additional €3,000 will guarantee admission to the VIP section, provide opportunities for taking photographs with the former president and include a "goody bag" consisting of a signed copy of Mr Clinton's autobiography.

The "platinum package", which credits the purchasing company as the main sponsor, costs €125,000. This guarantees photographs with Mr Clinton and a dinner table near him.

The former president, who earns an estimated €300,000- €400,000 in appearance fees, is expected to discuss global terrorism and the energy crisis during an hour-long speech and question-and-answer session.

His speech in Dublin will follow a similar event in the Royal Albert Hall in London the previous night. However, admission will be somewhat cheaper there given the nature of the event and the larger capacity of the Royal Albert Hall compared to the Burlington Hotel. Prices in London range from £60-£150 (€88-€222).

In May, Mr Clinton spoke in Glasgow for 90 minutes at an event organised by Celebrity World Events for 550 guests who were charged £500 a head. Last year, he was in Dublin to speak at a charity dinner organised by Rehab Care Suicide Prevention.
