Friends of the Earth is calling on Dáil representatives to support its campaign to prevent climate change.
The environmental group is asking the 166 TDs to sign its Climate Pledge, which calls on Ireland to do its "fair share" to tackle climate change to prevent "climate chaos".
The group has published a website where readers are invited to e-mail their respective TDs to pressure them into signing the pledge.
Friends of the Earth say the poorest and most vulnerable countries suffer the most from climate change.
More storms, floods, droughts and famines are predicted if climate change is not stopped, resulting in the destruction of lives and livelihoods for those living in those countries.
The organisation calls for urgent action, including a move away from the use of fossil fuels to more environmentally friendly and renewable energy such as wind solar and biomass.
