The Revised Estimates Volume 2012, which are to be published later today, will provide a more detailed breakdown of spending by almost every Government department than previously revealed, the Government has said.
Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin has said that his new “performance budgeting” initiative will strengthen the focus upon what the public service delivers with public funds.
Details of the administration costs and staffing resources consumed by each department will also be released, as will a provisional out-turn for spending in 2011.
The Department of Health and the Health Service Executive will both be providing similar performance information in a separate annual output statement.
