Tehran - Iran said yesterday it had accepted an EU proposal for the return of EU amb assadors withdrawn from Teh ran in April. A Foreign Minis try spokesman said Tehran had agreed to the proposal which, it said, stipulated the German and French ambassadors would be the last envoys to return.
In Brussels a spokesman for the EU presidency, held by Luxembourg, said the EU is sending its ambassadors back to Iran after a hiatus of more than six months, prompted by a Berlin court finding that the Iranian government had ordered the murder of Kurdish dissidents in Germany.
