Directive on family reunion 2003 - A law that sets common standards for the rights of third country nationals legally resident in the Union to bring their families into the EU.
Directive on long-term residents 2003 - A law that gives third country nationals the right to permanent residency if they legally reside in an EU state for five years or more.
Regulation establishing External Borders Agency 2004 - The border agency Frontex was created to boost EU member-states' co-operation in the field of border security. (The European Court of Justice recently ruled against an attempt by Britain and Ireland to be involved in shaping border security measures because of their opt-out.)
Directive on residence permits for trafficking victims 2004 - A law that would force member-states to offer temporary residence and accommodation to victims of trafficking.
Directive on sanctions for employers of irregular immigrants 2007
