Motorists are facing a weekend of traffic disruptions and delays with sports fixtures and exhibitions due to take place in the coming days.

This evening, Leinster take on the Newport Gwent Dragons in Donnybrook as part of the Celtic League. Motorists around Donnybrook can expect delays just before and after the match, which begins at 7.10pm.

A motor show could cause havoc for Dublin motorists too, as tens of thousands of motoring enthusiasts are set to descend on the RDS this weekend for Motor Show Ireland 2005. Expect delays in and around the RDS; the show takes place today until 10pm, tomorrow from 10am to 6pm, and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.

On Sunday, Cork motorists can expect traffic disruption as the 24th Cork Women's Mini Marathon takes place in the city. More than 8,000 women are participating in the race, which begins at 2pm, with charities predicted to net over €2 million from the event.

The race will cause traffic disruption in the city centre, with some road closures; Copley Street will be shut to traffic from noon, and Grand Parade will be closed from 1pm to 2.30pm.

The race route will also cause some delays on the Grand Parade to Victoria Cross, Dennehys Cross, Magazine Road, Glasheen Park, Glasheen Road, Clashduv Road, Vicars Road, Pouladuff Road, Deerpark, Summerhill South and South Terrace.

Meanwhile, Limerick County Council is warning motorists that there is an increased risk of flooding in low-lying areas this weekend due to high tides each morning and evening. The council will monitor the tides and plans to have crews on standby.
