Irish seems to pose a considerable problem for students. It is an essential subject for many courses and colleges so students often feel under additional pressure to pass.

The papers may require a lot of writing so students need to organise their time, by first consulting the marking scheme.

In the weeks leading up to the exams the seminars will continue with English on May 8th, maths on May 15th, French on May 22nd, geography on May 29th and study skills on June 6th. Questions for forthcoming seminars can be sent to the email address above or posted, in the conventional manner, to Exam Countdown at Education and Living, The Irish Times, 10-16 D'Olier Street, Dublin 2.
