A woman who was injured when a hoarding fell on her while shopping in Dublin has been awarded £13,000 damages in Dublin Circuit Civil Court. Mrs Emily Nallen, of Ballina, Co Mayo, told Judge Kevin Haugh she was walking past Joe Walsh Tours Ltd's offices in O'Connell Street when she was hit by a wooden hoarding which had been covering a broken window on the first floor.

Judge Haugh held that liability rested with Myra Glass Company Ltd, New Street, Dublin, which had been hired to glaze a window in the holiday firm's offices. He dismissed the claim against Joe Walsh Tours and Crothers Security.
