Racing:Kieren Fallon stepped up preparations ahead of his eagerly-awaited comeback on Friday by partnering Mick Channon's Youmzain in a gallop on this morning.
The former champion jockey is expected to partner the six-year-old in the Grosser Preis von Baden in Germany on Sunday and was at Channon's West Ilsley yard to reacquaint himself with the dual Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe runner-up.
With some critics questioning Youmzain's attitude in a finish he was tried in a visor but Fallon believes the headgear would be unnecessary.
Fallon rode an unraced two-year-old to get a feel of the gallop first which was on the summer ground.
After that bit of exercise he jumped on to Youmzain who worked seven furlongs with Som Tala and Kessraa.
Youmzain came up between the other two horses to finish upsides the lead horse with Som Tala three lengths behind.
"I was very happy with him, he feels good and is very well in himself," said Fallon. "He's cruised up there but the visor didn't make any difference, for me he doesn't need it.
"He feels good and it was a beautiful surface. It's the first time I've ridden work on this side of the country."
