A CO Donegal couple and their young son were killed in a three-vehicle collision near Letterkenny yesterday. Two other people were injured in the accident.
Mr Raymond Patton (37), his wife, Viola (33), and their two-year-old son, Reece, from Cloncarney, Trentagh, Churchill, died in the crash, which involved two cars and a van at Manorcunningham, on the Letterkenny-Derry road. The accident occurred soon after 1 p.m.
After the initial collision the van somersaulted on to the two cars. An eyewitness said it was a "miracle" that anyone survived.
