Fine Gael has been criticised for its "negative" recruitment advertisement in yesterday's Irish Times. Mr Sean Fleming (FF) said he was appalled at the tone of the advertisement which led with "Help Bring Down the Government". He called on the party to withdraw the advert and place one with a more positive attitude to politics.
"Is Fine Gael unable to find one positive thing to say about itself? Does the party not have one characteristic that it can be proud of which could be used to promote itself? Obviously not if they have to resort to such negative advertising. By taking this type of approach, the Fine Gael party is just adding to the public cynicism of politics."
