Motor racing's governing body, the International Automobile Federation (FIA), has confirmed a 100-year agreement for the commercial rights to Formula One with the SLEC holding company.

The FIA said in a statement today that SLEC, the holding company that operates the broadcasting and commercial rights to Formula One until 2010, and its key shareholder Kirch Group had confirmed that the championship would continue to be shown on free-to-air television rather than just pay-TV.

The FIA said the agreement had been concluded at an extraordinary meeting in Paris today.
