Gardaí have seized fireworks, counterfeit DVDs and contraband cigarettes in searches in Co Meath.
The haul was discovered during planned searches of two houses in Bellewstown yesterday evening.
The fireworks have an estimated market value of €50,000, the counterfeit DVDs are worth in the region of €30,000, while the value of the cigarettes is not yet calculated.
However gardaí have described the quantity as substantial. "There were several large crates," a spokesman said. The searches were carried out by members of the Garda National Bureau of Criminal Investigation (NBCI) assisted by local gardaí from the Louth/Meath division.

Investigations into the seizure are ongoing but no arrests have been made.
