The body of a fisherman was pulled from a river in Northern Ireland by a family friend after a police hunt last night.
Officers were called to the Faughan River, near Derry, after receiving reports that a fisherman had fallen from a riverbank.
They were forced to call off the search for the man because of failing light and had planned to deploy an underwater search team this morning.
However, a family friend stayed and discovered the body close to the riverbank where the man had entered the water.
