Wexford goalkeeper Damian Fitzhenry has called time on his inter-county career after almost 17 years with the Model county. With the opening game of the National League imminent, the Duffry Rovers has taken the decision to bow out.
The 35-year-old made his inter-county debut back in 1993 in the national hurling league and is the last remaining link with the 1996 All-Ireland winning side. He also claimed three Leinster titles (1996, 1997 and 2004) and was named an All-Star in both 1997 and 2004.
Wexford manager Colm Bonnar must now decide on who, out of Dermot Flynn, Noel Carton and Mark Fanning, he retains on his panel for the league campaign.
