Fivepipe bombs were seized by the RUC today in Co Antrim.
They were found in a lane at Cloughmills in one of a number of searches in the area.
The find is close to where several homes have been attacked as part of a widespread campaign against Catholic families.
No arrests were made.
Supt John Bustard said: "We have prevented possible death and injury by removing these pipe bombs from the hands of loyalist paramilitaries."
