Five men have been sentenced to death in Pakistan for their involvement in an assassination attempt on President Pervez Musharraf in December 2003.
A spokesman for the Pakistan military declined to say what court had handed down the death sentences but said one of the convicted men was a soldier and the others were civilians.
"They were convicted in the assassination attempt on the president on December 25, 2003," he said, referring to the second of two attempts on Mr Musharraf that month.
