England captain Andrew Flintoff is determined to avoid an Ashes whitewash after England crashed to their heaviest defeat yet in the fourth Test in Melbourne.

Australia thrashed the tourists by an innings and 99 runs inside three days after being bowled out for 161 in their second innings and now face the prospect of losing an Ashes series 5-0 for the first time since 1921.

"It's been a tough Test match for us. Australia played some fantastic cricket and outplayed us over these three days," Flintoff said. "We've got to regroup. We've got one Test match left and it's still a big Test match for us.

"We don't want to go home having been beaten 5-0. We want to win a game in Australia so that's what we'll be all out to do over these next three days," he told Sky Sports One.

Meanwhile England coach Duncan Fletcher admitted that the tourists are concerned about the "breach of security" which led to a copy of their detailed plans for bowling in the fourth Test being leaked to Australian radio station ABC.

The plans, prepared by analyst Mark Garaway, detailed the best ways for dismissing Australia's line-up and were broadcasted by ABC.

Copies of the plans were pinned up in the England dressing room and Fletcher told BBC Radio Five Live: "We're concerned that our confidence and security has been breached.

"We took every precaution that we could. They were put up on the board every morning and taken down every night.

"We know that two of those copies were together and we say 'how does one copy detach itself from the other copy and end up on the floor'."

Fletcher also claimed that England had been on their guard following an incident during the first Test in Brisbane but refused to elaborate on what had happened on that occasion.

"There was an incident that happened in Brisbane," he said. "I'll leave it at that."
