Motorists are being advised to exercise caution after heavy rain today caused flooding in many parts of the country.
AA Roadwatch said heavy flooding in the Dublin area was causing widespread traffic disruption and urged motorists to reduce their speed and keep their dipped headlights on at all times.
It reported flooding outbound on the Long Mile Road which is down to one lane and also on Kylemore Road. There were also reports of flooding on the N7 inbound by Browns Barn.
The road between Saggart and the N81 Blessington Road is said to be impassable and gardaí are asking motorists to take an alternative route.
There are also reports of flooding at the Strawberry Beds. Other areas to watch out for are Taylor's Lane in Rathfarnham at the junction of Whitchurch Road which is causing disruptions in the area.
AA is also reporting heavy traffic on the M50 northbound from the toll plaza to the Finglas exit and at Blanchardstown southbound from the Ballymun exit to the toll plaza.
