DUNFERMILINE Detectives were last night investigating the double death mystery of a Scottish First Division football club captain and a woman. Dunfermline Athletic skipper Norrie McCathie (34) and a hairdresser, Ms Amanda Burns (26), were found dead in a bedroom at his cottage in Dunfermline, Fife.

One possibility being studied is that they died from carbon monoxide poisoning but whether this was accidental or otherwise was not immediately known.
