Three teenagers from Crossmaglen and a man from Belfast appeared in court yesterday arising out of a republican protest at the City Hall last month.

The defendants were: Shane Feeney (17), of Dundalk Road; Mr Simon Hughes (18), and Mr Paul Ogle (19), both of Lismore Park, all Crossmaglen; and Mr Kevin Vernon (24), of Evelyne Gardens, Belfast.

They were charged with disorderly behaviour, refusing to leave the roof of the City Hall, damaging pigeon-repellent wire, and intending to provoke a breach of the peace by displaying a Saoirse banner.
