Four-day forecast for Ireland

After a wet start in places, clearer weather with sunny spells and just scattered showers will develop on Saturday. Some of the showers may be wintry over high ground, but they will die out towards evening. A moderate north-west wind will back west to south-west later and fall light.

Saturday night will be mostly dry and clear, with light winds, but very cold, with a sharp or severe ground frost and a risk of icy roads. Any frost will clear during Sunday morning, as winds freshen from a south to south-east direction. The day will be mostly dry, with sunny intervals, but cold.

On Sunday night rain will develop and south-east winds will become strong and gusty.

Monday will be a little milder, with further spells of rain, heavy at times, and a risk of localised flooding. Windy also, with strong and gusty southeasterly winds. Present indications suggest that the weather will stay unsettled and cold for the remainder of the week.
