Four police officers were hit by a car in south Belfast today after the driver tried to speed off when they went to speak to him.

The officers, three men and a woman, were responding to reports of a domestic incident at Woodside View in Dunmurry early this morning.

They were injured when they approached the driver of a parked car who tried to drive off, said a Police Service spokesman.

The car hit the officers and a police Land Rover. None of the injuries were serious.

A man in his 20s was arrested.
