FOUR MEN have been remanded in custody in relation to the seizure of €2 million worth of heroin at a house in Co Kildare last week.

Ian Demon (24), Deansrath Avenue, Clondalkin, Dublin; Keith Browne (34), Deanstown Road, Finglas, Dublin; Alan Cleary (33), Foxdean Green, Clondalkin; and Michael Moran, Mylerstown, Robertstown, Co Kildare, all appeared at a sitting of Naas District Court yesterday morning.

The first three defendants were charged with having heroin, while Mr Moran was charged with allowing the preparation of a controlled drug on his property. They will appear again at Cloverhill District Court next Friday. A fifth man arrested over the seizure was released without charge.

A 43-year-old man is due in court in Blanchardstown this morning over a €6.5 million seizure of cannabis in Dunboyne, Co Meath, on Thursday. He was arrested in Carlow on Saturday.

Another man, James Holland (41), Church Street, Finglas, was remanded in custody until Thursday charged with having drugs and having drugs with intend to supply.
