A senior GAA official in the west has criticised certain Opposition politicians who, he claims, would rather provide funding for lesbian groupings than allocate money to the GAA. Responding to Opposition criticism of the Government's decision to allocate £20 million for the redevelopment of Croke Park, the vice-president of the Galway County Board took issue with the previous government for giving money to lesbians. Mr Norman Farragher said one politician "has a difficulty about money going to the GAA, but he had no difficulty giving money to lesbians."
