Dublin and Tyrone will have to wait ‘some time’ before learning their fate, following a series of clashes between players that spilled on to the sidelines in Omagh last weekend.
A GAA statement released this afternoon said that deliberations over what action to take will not be completed at this evening’s Central Disciplinary Committee meeting, despite reports to the contrary.
The statement read: "It is anticipated that the Committee’s deliberations on the incidents in the Tyrone v Dublin Allianz league game will not be completed for some time."
The match between the Leinster and the All-Ireland champions was eagerly anticipated by GAA fans but soon turned ugly after brawls, involving nearly every player on the field, broke out in the eighth and 42nd minute.
Referee Paddy Russell appeared, at times, unable to control the game despite meting out a total of four red cards and 14 yellow.
The situation became so heated that, at times, there were fears it may spill over into the crowd.
Speaking after the game Tyrone manager Mickey Harte proclaimed: "God almighty couldn't have refereed that."
However neither he, nor Dublin boss Paul Caffrey, openly attributed any blame to their players.
