A talk on the Galapagos Islands takes place tomorrow (8 p.m.) at NUI Maynooth. The islands present remarkable genetic characteristics as species which landed up on their remote shores were left to follow their own unique version of evolution, untempered by what was happening on larger land masses. The talk will be given by Dr Padraig Whelan, vice-president (Europe), of the Charles Darwin Foundation for the Galapagos Isles. All are welcome.
