The trial of a garda who is charged with issuing a false driving licence to his brother while he was employed by Galway County Council, has been set for November 22nd.

Galway native Brendan Folan (31), Lower Kilmacud Road, Dublin, denies issuing a false 10-year driving licence to Ciarán Folan at Galway County Council’s offices in Galway in September 2006.

He also denies corruptly obtaining an advantage for his brother by issuing him with the licence while he was employed. The charges carry a maximum sentence of 10 years.
