A LIBERIAN refugee arrested after an incident in Temple Bar. Dublin, later threatened to shoot the arresting garda, Dublin District Court has been told. Mr Maxwell Cristo, of North Circular Road, Dublin, who was charged yesterday with breach of the peace and drunkenness, told Garda Sean Cosgrove: "When I was in the Liberian army I shot many. I'm going to shoot you next."

Mr George Cristo, a Liberian, of North Summer Street, Dublin, was charged with assaulting a man at Crown Alley about 3.15 a.m. yesterday. Mr Redonane Chadjoa, a Somali, of South Great Georges Street, Dublin, Mr Fred Clancy, from the Ivory Coast, of North Summer Street, Dublin, along with French national, Mr Abdi Abdulegh, are all charged with drunkenness and breach of the peace.

Judge Murrough Connellan remanded Mr Clancy and Mr Abdulegh on bail but the three others were remanded in custody. All five will appear again on May 30th.
