Gardaí appeal over Cork crash

28-year-old pedestrian seriously injured after being struck by a car in Youghal

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to a serious crash in Youghal yesterday evening in which a 28-year-old male pedestrian was seriously injured.

The crash happened at about 8pm when the man was struck by a car at Upper Strand in the town. He was taken by ambulance to Cork University Hospital.

Forensic collision investigators are at the scene and a technical and forensic examination of the scene is currently underway. The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
