Gardai are today investigating an armed robbery at a hotel in Athy, Co Kildare.
Three masked and armed men broke into the hotel at around 3.30am holding up staff at gunopint and demanding the keys to the hotel safe.
They later got away with a "substantial amount of cash", according to a Garda spokeswoman.
There were no shots were fired and no-one was injured.
