The home of a member of one of Limerick's feuding gangs has been targeted in a petrol bomb attack for the second time in 24 hours.
Gardaí in Limerick confirmed yesterday that they were investigating another arson attack on the house in Delmege Park in the Moyross estate.
They were also investigating reports that shots were fired at the house shortly before the latest attack.
The house was unoccupied when a petrol bomb was thrown into it at about 1am yesterday. It is the family home of a 20-year-old man currently before the courts in connection with a feud-related shooting.
Some minor damage was caused just 24 hours after a similar attack on the same house early on Wednesday morning.
In the earlier incident, petrol bombs were also thrown into the nearby home of the late gangland murder victim, Frankie Ryan. Mr Ryan's father, who was in the house at the time, escaped uninjured.
Gardaí at Mayorstone confirmed yesterday that they were treating the latest arson attack as part of the ongoing feud, which has claimed six lives in six years.
"We would urge these parties to step back from what they are doing and to cease this type of serious criminal activity," a Garda spokesman said.
Anyone with information on the incident is urged to contact Mayorstone Garda station at 061-456981.
