Investigations are under way today into two fires in Limerick last night that gardaí believe may be linked.
A furniture shop in Castletroy was destroyed just hours before what appears to have been an arson attempt on the District Courthouse in the city.
The first alert was raised at around 10 p.m. when the Oakland furniture store on the Dublin Road was seen ablaze. Up to a dozen units of the fire brigade attended but the building was gutted.
At around midnight, the alert was raised at the District Court House on Merchants Quay where fire was seen inside the building.
