Gardai are investigating two separate allegations of sexual abuse made against elderly priests in Cork. A man from the county recently claimed that he was sexually assaulted by a priest when he was a young boy back in the 1980s.
A woman also contacted gardai to say she was sexually assaulted by a priest in the 1970s. Both complainants have made detailed statements to gardai . The cases are not related in any way. The two priests at the centre of the allegations have retired.
