Two gardaí have been found not guilty of assaulting a man during the 'Reclaim the Streets' march in Dublin city centre in May 2002.

After a 10-day trial, the jury at the Dublin Circuit Criminal Court returned unanimous not guilty verdicts in the cases against Garda Thomas Victory and Garda Ronan Judge of Store Street Garda station.

Both had denied assaulting Mr Rory McMonagle (23), of Neville Road, Rathgar, on May 6th, 2002.

Judge Yvonne Murphy last Friday discharged the jury in relation to the same charge against Garda Paul Daly of Pearse Street Station.

A new date will be set for his trial.
