The man was named last night as Thomas Harte (40), single, from Allen Square, Ballymacthomas, Cork. His body was found in the front room of a derelict house on Leitrim Street on Tuesday morning.

Gardai were reluctant to give details yesterday but it is thought that Mr Harte died some time between 6 p.m. on Monday and 2 a.m. on Tuesday. Gardai have appealed to anyone who may have been in the area between these times to contact them on a special telephone line 021551252.
