Gardaí in Dublin are renewing their appeal for witnesses to the robbery of a security van on Kings Inns Street in the city at around 1.20pm last Wednesday.

A number of men approached a white Ford Transit security van which was parked at the time. They threatened two security men with knives and forced into them into the rear of the van.

The security men were carrying out collections from Dublin Corporation parking meter machines in the King's Inn Street area.

One of the raiders is described as being of stocky build, approximately 5 ft 8 and spoke with a Dublin accent.

The van was located a short time later at Dominick Street. The two security employees were uninjured.

A number of cash boxes were removed from the van in the course of the robbery.

Gardaí are also appealing for business people or people working in financial institutions who may have been approached by anyone seeking to change an unusually large number of coins to contact the number above.
