Gardaí appealed today for a taxi driver to help them in their investigation of a serious sexual assault in Dublin last weekend.

Gardaí said a woman suffered a serious sexual assault at Castlefield Park in Blanchardstown.

Detectives at Blanchardstown, Dublin, are seeking the taxi driver who picked her up outside a licensed premises on Parnell Street after 12.30am on Sunday and brought her to Castlefield Park.

Gardaí wish to interview a number of men in relation to the sex attack.

It is believed the taxi was an old-type Mercedes, which was dark in colour.
