Gardai in Co Galway seized 90 kilogrammes of cannabis resin with an estimated street value of €1. 2 million.
The drugs were seized when a van was stopped and searched at a checkpoint at Ballinasloe just after midnight.
Two men, aged 23 and 39 were arrested and are being detained at Ballinasloe Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
